This is a versatile, simple to use and learn little program with a lot of different options. It is a great choice if you a looking for a simple beat maker. more The file is about 5 MB in size and comes with a few per-loaded samples (909, 808 and Linn) and you can add more samples with relative ease. My only problem with it is that there is no kind of piano roll making it virtually impossible to put any kind of melody in your project. In all fairness I the program was not created to be a full service DAW, just a beat maker. My top pick for free beat maker.Pros: plenty of options, great for making beats.
Cons: No piano roll. no option for 1/2, 1/4 1/8 or beyond snapping.

This program was close to top pick but lost out because of no playlist feature meaning you can only make an 8 bar beat and not a full song. Other than that this app is loaded with features and even has a cool virtual pad drum machine if you want to mess around with a virtual drum kit.
Pros: even more features and different things to do than GrooveMixer. Simple Piano Roll!
Cons: No way to make a full song with multiple beats. Pre-loaded samples in pattern maker.
